Dyson-tery: The CDC Should focus on this…

April 12, 2008

Everytime the Dyson guy pops up in a commercial I feel like I have a disease that needs to be treated.  His tone has a certain urgency to it, that there is filth in my home that is killing me. The guy’s stare goes into my soul and I want to go spend $400 on a vacuum.  I don’t even have a house and I want the thing.  I also enjoy his tone when he invents something “new” and treats all the other vacuum cleaner companies as dumb asses. “How could you not think of this?” he asks in a snotty tone. They also have some power over children, too.  My nephew gets memorized by the commercial and tells my sister they need to buy a Dyson….that day!  The commercial accomplishes so much in 30 seconds: it makes you afraid of the unknown disease and it appeals to your June Cleaver qualities to make us think we aren’t clean enough.
